The Guild’s first workshop evening of the year was held at Hook Village Hall on Monday 16th March.

Our theme for the evening was “Pen and Wash Simplified” – with the suggestion that members’ sketches or paintings could be in a similar style to that of artist Peter Sheeler (there are many demonstrations on his Youtube channel @PeterSheelerart.  A couple of other pen and wash styles can be seen by following the links below:

Several members gathered for the evening of experimentation. Some brought work which was already underway, we all marveled at Ali Griffiths’s intricate pen and ink studies:


Sonia drew upon her experience with urban sketching.


Whilst Ann and Gerry tackled seaside themes and John an architectural subject, others focused on wildlife or landscape.
