August’s monthly Guild meeting gave members the opportunity to try their hands at creating a mini book folded from a single sheet of A3 paper following a demonstration and instructions by member Sonia Leggett.

Sonia’s books

Sonia brought along a number of samples of small books, each made from a single sheet of paper. There are a number of different permutations of this type of structure, but the evening was spent on making the one which provided 16 pages (i.e. 32 sides). Members started by decorating their large sheets of paper with paints, inks, markers, pencils and stencils before getting to grips with folding and cutting to achieve the finished product. Some colourful and interesting results, with thoughts on how to utilise these “books” in different ways.
