Originally from Staffordshire Susanna has been an art tutor and demonstrator for many years living and working in Gloucestershire. Her inspiration has come from around the Severn estuary, Cotswold landscape, the West Country and Wales. For several years Susanna was resident artist at the National Arboretum, Tetbury hence her love of woodlands. She now lives in Wiltshire where she paints the local scenery around the Marlborough Downs and The Vale of Pewsey whilst continuing to demonstrate to art societies.

Susanna works in oils, acrylics and pastels. Her work evolves from the shapes of colour in nature interacting with movement and light. We were delighted that Susanna came along to our monthly meeting in May to demonstrate her approach to painting a beach scene in oils.
