Lesley Andrews, of Friends of the Garden, writes;

… I’m sure it will be of interest to your members as I know how much your normal programme must have been disrupted by the lock down. At last  outdoor events like ours are opening but with booking and social distancing in place. If any members would like to bring a chair and paint or draw they would be welcome – we do have a lovely setting and some amazing work coming. They would have to cope of course with nosy visitors checking over their shoulder…

In 1969 an exhibition ‘Sculpture in a Landscape’ was organised by sculptor Roger Leigh. Eighteen of his contemporaries took part. We are delighted that work by William Pye, one of those who took part , will again be shown in the same landscape. This is the seventh and last Friends exhibition. We are pleased that over 60 artists, most of whom have previously exhibited with us, are coming again. They will be joined by a small group of new graduates three of whom have taken part in our 2020 bursary programme. All work is for sale. Sculptures will be placed throughout the landscape, and pieces for imme- diate sale will feature in our popup shop and summerhouse gallery. A popup café, open every day, will be run by a consortium of village charities serving teas, coffees and light lunches. Free parking is available in an adjacent field. Only assistance dogs are allowed onto the site. West Leaze is situated on the Marlborough downs on a sloping site with some flat areas but most is grassland with mown paths. Wheelchair access is limited. We look forward to welcoming you.
