The exhibition elves were on tip-top form earlier today receiving, labelling and hanging some great work. Work which demonstrations the breadth and depth of Guild members’ talents and excitingly varied approaches to making art. Elves included Ann March, Sally Turner, Joy Burden, Anna Tappern, Tim Baynes and Alan Morgan. Jim Dowton joined us and was romping round the town persuading posters to be put up in important places.
Doubtless lured by the idea of coffee and bacon sandwiches in the excellent café Jackdaws Café, a few steps from this wonderful John Bowen Gallery they soon had it sorted
As the elves were working putting up the show, there was lots of footfall, the Gallery is en route to the toilets that serve both the café and indeed the Tourist Information Centre so footfall for the show is more or less guaranteed.…
We had the show hung just before noon, with Head Elf*, Ann March adding final touches to the hand. Show opens tomorrow 30th August!
