Sonia P. Leggett

About the Artist

Sonia's primary medium is watercolour, but she also uses gouache, inks, acrylics, collage and printmaking techniques. Many of her pure watercolour paintings are inspired by the diverse colour and form of flowers, some of which are executed in miniature. Sonia also enjoys recording time-worn architectural subjects and this is often where a mixed media approach is employed to convey weathered and textured surfaces. Sketching a variety of subjects from life plays an important part in her artistic development and provides the foundation for much of her finished work.

In addition to showing work at local and county venues, Sonia has exhibited with a number of national art societies. Currently she is a member of the Guild of Wiltshire Artists and Urban Sketchers Swindon.
