Sonia P. Leggett

Sonia's primary medium is watercolour, but she also uses gouache, inks, acrylics, collage and printmaking techniques. Many of her pure watercolour paintings are inspired by the diverse colour and form of flowers, some of which are executed in miniature. Sonia also enjoys recording time-worn architectural subjects and this is often where a mixed media approach is employed to convey weathered and textured surfaces. Sketching a variety of subjects from life plays an important part in her artistic development and provides the foundation for much of her finished work.

In addition to showing work at local and county venues, Sonia has had miniature paintings accepted for national open exhibitions of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters and was an exhibiting member of the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists and the Society of Floral Painters for several years.  Currently she is a member of  the Guild of Wiltshire Artists.
